On Friday, January 11, Coastal Grill & Raw Bar presented to the Boys & Girls Club of Volusia/Flagler Counties a check totaling $9,758. The check was a donation from the restaurant’s pre-opening charity event that was held on December 7. The donation was generated by ticket sales, guest donations, and donated server tips. Joe Sullivan, chief professional officer and founder of the club, received the check, along with some staff and youth members of the club.
“The event was a complete success! We are always excited and willing to support our local community, especially the future of our neighborhood—the children of Volusia and Flagler Counties,” said Steve Papero, co-founder, president, and chief executive officer of Stonewood Holdings.
The charity event is a Stonewood Holdings tradition for every newly opened restaurant. A total of 376 tickets were sold online and at the door at the cost of $25 each, racking up $9,400 in proceeds. Costs for food and labor were completely funded by the restaurant and all proceeds were bestowed to the club. Coastal guests continued the gift of giving by providing $240 in additional donations. Several servers of the restaurant, including some who grew up involved with the club, shared their positive stories about the club with guests and donated $118 of their tips to the club. All of these sales and donations will support the goals and dreams of local youth—the Boys & Girls Club’s continuous goal for the past 24 years.
